The new, enhanced energy rebates through Enbridge and Canada’s Greener Homes Grant – Starting in January 2023
There have been some discontinued rebates, but most of the rebate amounts have been increased, specifically if you’re an Enbridge customer.
Discontinued measures as of January 1, 2023
- Furnace/Boiler & Water Heater (Tanked and Instantaneous)
- Basement $500 Bonus & Multiple Measures Bonus
If you currently have an open file and 1st Audits completed, you can:
- Wait until January 1st 2023 to complete your final audit and you can get the new incentives
- Or if you are getting Enbridge incentives for Furnace and Tankless, you must complete your final audits by April 30th 2023
Under the new program homeowners are required to do only one upgrade.
There will be no 120-day D to E assessment rules to be eligible for the Enbridge Gas enhanced rebates.
Non-natural gas-heated homeowners (Propane, Oil, Wood, and Electric)
- You will continue to receive the Greener Homes grant of $5600.
- You will need to prove that you own your home and that it is your primary residence.
- A property Tax bill is required to show ownership
- Photo ID (driver’s license)
Natural gas-heated homeowners
- Gas homeowners will receive a maximum of $10,600 (up to $7,100 for heating and cooling) with enhanced incentives to the existing rebate list.
- If you’re in the process of switching to gas heating, they will qualify under this bucket.
- A property Tax bill is required showing ownership\
- A Gas account is required at time of audit
Landlords with natural gas heating
- Landlords with Gas heating will also receive a maximum of $10,600 with enhanced incentives to the existing rebate list towards their property.

- A Gas account is required at time of audit
- MURBs and Coops do not qualify. Unless MURB is 3 Stories or less.
