If you are considering repainting the outside of your home or if you are getting a roofing job done, keep in mind that darker colors absorb heat. If it goes with the rest of your home, consider using lighter colors for your exterior.
Air can seep out of your home in many spots including chimney gaps, around windows or doors, small leaks around where utilities enter your home (dryer vents etc). Take some time this fall to seal up these leaks or gaps with caulking or other sealing tools. This will save on both furnace and air conditioning costs.
Take advantage of cooler days like today. When there is a breeze or cool air, turn off your air conditioning and open your windows. Let some of that fresh air in!

The key to being cool and comfortable has a lot to do with humidity. If a window air conditioner is too large for it’s room or space, too many BTU’s, then it may cool the room but fail to remove the humidity properly.
